Gordon’s home was built in the 1800’s. It is a one story home with limestone walls and a basement. Gordon and his wife would often take extended trips. Before leaving for one of their trips Gordon noticed the gap that he filled up with foam on the exterior wall of his home opened up again. He decided to have Thrasher Basement Systems come to his home to do an inspection.
While performing the inspection in the basement, the homeowner removed some paneling from the walls, so Thrasher could see the foundation walls. The owner stopped when he realized how much the wall had come in and that the paneling was holding the loose wall back. Thrasher informed Gary of the compromised state the foundation wall was in and of the danger it imposed to the home. They estimated the wall had moved in 8-10 inches and fixing the home now would potentially save him thousands of dollars, not to mention also the danger of living in the house.
Thrasher was able to pull the wall back 5-6 inches and secured it with Geo-Lock Wall Anchors. They next installed rebar, metal caging and angle iron frame. This prepped the wall for the final step of applying Shot-Lock Shotcrete Wall Restoration System from Foundation Supportworks. With hopes of turning his basement into a game room/man-cave, Gordon also had Thrasher install a SaniDry basement air system. We left them with a safe and secure wall, and peace of mind when they are off on one of their extended trips.
