Mr. and Mrs. M. had previously had basement waterproofing performed by Thrasher Basement Systems, Inc. Every year, the Morton’s had Thrasher come to their home and provide annual maintenance to their system and pumps. During the most recent visit, the Thrasher representative performed an inspection of their foundation, grading, and gutters. At that time Mrs. M. voiced a concern regarding the “hump” in her kitchen floor that went all the way across the room. By asking questions and doing some investigation, the Thrasher Representative learned that the house had an addition and that the “hump” was where the new and old foundations met. As the addition settled it created the “hump.” Thrasher also learned that underneath the addition is a crawlspace. The crawlspace itself had issues with musty odors, mold, and mildew on the floor joists.
