- Inspect exterior siding, brickwork and stucco. Clean and repair as needed.
- Replace rotted siding or trim and repaint as necessary.
- Inspect and clean gutters and downspouts. The freeze and thaw cycles of winter can lead to damage and sags/dips.
- Inspect your roof for leaks or loose shingles. Make sure flashing is in good shape.
- Inspect concrete slabs for signs of cracks or movement. All exterior slabs except pool decks should drain away from the home's foundation. - Check your chimney on the inside and outside. Make sure the damper is working properly and thoroughly shut.
- Weatherproof your windows and doors. Check all caulk lines and weather stripping, replace screens.
- Check our your heat/air unit, change all batteries in detectors. Change filters and clean the air purifier, but leave the rest to the pros.
- Prune landscaping and create good drainage. Maintain your plants shrubs to prevent soil erosion.
- Protect against bugs.
- Replace storm windows if in pour shape.
- Change batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
