At Thrasher Basement Systems and Foundation Supportworks, one of our core values is ONE Community – an advocate for our community, returning the blessings we’ve been given. We understand the importance of giving back to the community that has supported us for so long.
This past weekend employees from both Thrasher and Foundation Supportworks were able to do that by volunteering our time and resources to help an amazing woman in need. Debra lost her husband to cancer 5 years ago, and is currently working 2-3 jobs to make ends meet. She has eliminated everything that she can in order to cut expenses (including running her AC or heat!). One of Debra’s jobs is massage therapy, which she does in a massage parlor that is located in her basement.
Debra was getting water in her basement, which caused a musty odor that is unhealthy for her or her customers. On Saturday, about 30 volunteers from both companies braved the rain and installed a new deck, retaining wall, and a waterproofing system into Debra’s house. Volunteers were out all day and by working as a team managed to get everything finished in a single day.
